Exciting news for Godzilla fans! On November 21, 2026, the Music Institute of Chicago will feature a concert of Akira Ifukube’s Godzilla music performed by the pianists Reiko Yamada and Patrick Godon!

Also featured will be the vocalist Meghan Guse, who was the singer at the 2019 Kaiju Crescendo concert! Take a look at the flyer designed by Kyle Gilmore.

Selections will include Ifukube’s masterpiece, Ritmica Ostinata (1961) arranged for two pianos.

Also included will be selections from Symphonic Fantasias 1, 2, and 3, arranged for two pianos by Motoji Yssimal and Satoshi Imai.

There will also be completely new two-piano arrangements of music from Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964) and Terror of Mechagodzilla (1975) by John DeSentis.

Erik Homenick, Author of the upcoming book Scoring Godzilla: An Analysis of Akira Ifukube’s Musical Narratives will be Master of Ceremonies.
