This looks like a lot of fun. Check out the trailer for the new Cold-War era throwback action-comedy Mayday (2026) starring Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh.
Official Synopsis: Lieutenant Troy Brennan’s reconnaissance mission over Soviet territory goes awry, forcing him to crash-land and survive in Russian wilderness while evading capture or rescue.
A modern spin on the classic 80’s buddy formula, Mayday has potential for greatness as it’s helmed by Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. That movie hits a sweet spot for me. It’s a perfect blend of humor, action, and heart. Can they do it again?
My only concern is Ryan Reynolds. A little of him goes a long way. Hopefully they can keep him reeled in.
