Check out the fascinating new trailer for a film called ‘Hen’ by Hungarian filmmaker György Pálfi (Taxidermia).
Told entirely from the perspective of a hen, the film follows a chicken who has escaped an industrial farm only to find herself navigating the pecking order of a crumbling seaside restaurant in Greece. As she fights to protect her eggs, she becomes an unwitting witness to the complex human lives around her as the restaurant is caught up in greed, smuggling, and the migrant crisis.
I love the creative concept. The filmmaking looks beautiful. The subject matter looks relevant and thoughtful.
This was not on my movie bingo card, but I’m penciling it in. It looks like ‘Hen’ is set to hit cinemas May 22, 2026.
