Ever feel like your art isn’t good enough to share? I think that part of learning, and practicing anything, is sharing your work, even if it’s not perfect.

Case in point, this Godzilla watercolor pencil and ink I was working on. Not quite the Godzilla face I wanted to make but it’s progress. I’m learning to be okay with mistakes and use that to be more creative.

On this one, I royally messed up the eye. Instead of tossing it, I cut out a piece of paper and inked a new eye, added watercolor, then pasted it over the mistake.

In the end, I love how it turned out and it was fun to find a creative solution. For me, art is therapy. You take the good with the bad and you enjoy it all.

Show your work. The process is the point.

Do you make art? I’d love to see it. Share a link in the comments.

  1. I love this! I swear that the eye looks like it has emotion.

I wish I had the gift of drawing.

    1. You are too kind! Thank you! I feel like everyone has something they bring to the table. When was the last time you sat down and gave it a shot? I bet you’d be surprised! Just have fun with it.
