What is Cinematic Point of View?

Hello and welcome to Cinematic Point of View. This is a space for me to share my passion for movies, television, books, Godzilla, music, and art.

Yeah, Godzilla is its own category.

The reviews you will find on on this page are all things that I liked. I guess really this is more of an archive or journal of my interests. My goal is to keep it positive and fun. I’ll also do my best to not compare films, but to take each of them on their own merit, and talk about them in a spoiler-free manner, if possible.

Maybe you will agree with me or maybe you won’t. Either way, I want to share my experience with the things that I enjoy as a certain point of view.

In my younger day I wanted to be a filmmaker. I met an amazing group of friends with similar interests and we formed a company. Digital video was barely affordable, but we shot a few short films that found festival success and even managed to produce a feature film that was picked up for DVD distribution. Goals met.

Anyway, while you’re here I hope you’ll find a movie, tv series, comic book, soundtrack, or something new to explore and appreciate.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Enjoy the show.

Who Am I?

I’m Chris and I call Kentucky my home. I grew up in Texas and moved to here almost 15 years ago. I am married with three amazing children and 5 cats. As a child, I injured my right eye and live with double vision. I love to read, write, draw, and do deep filmmaking dives into the worlds of directors, actors, and many different genres.

Fun Facts: I’ve worked on a goat milk farm delivering fresh goat milk. I’ve written several screenplays. I’ve produced an independent feature film and written/directed a festival favorite short film. I’ve worked as a Script Supervisor on a western shot on Willie Nelson’s ranch. I’ve had my artwork showcased in online magazines, coffee shops, restaurants and galleries around Kentucky.
