I’ve said it many times, but Patlabor is one of my favorite anime series. I love the low-key office vibe, the low-stakes mecha action, and all of the characters. I am sucker for the “everyday heroes” feel. I gushed about those feelings a while back in a blog post.
Needless to say, I’m pretty excited to see the latest incarnation, ‘Patlabor EZY.’ Check out another new trailer below!
This new trailer really ups the action factor. I’ll be interested to see if this is truly the case or simply another way to market the project. The animation looks fantastic. Slightly modern, but it seems to still retain that hand drawn feel that I love about 80s anime.
The first theatrical chapter of ‘Patlabor EZY’ hits theaters in Japan on May 15, 2026.
