It’s amazing what you can find on YouTube. Have a listen to this live performance of Akira Ifukube’s Symphonic Fantasia No. 3 from ‘SYMPHONIC FURY! The Music of Japanese Monsters.’ It was conducted by John DeSentis on July 10, 2015 at the Pickwick Theater in Park Ridge, IL.
After coming across this performance a few months ago, it’s become my go-to Godzilla music. The incredible, emotional, energy this orchestra captures moves me every single time I listen to it.
I’m currently on a deep Akira Ifukube and Godzilla soundtrack dive, listening to, and gathering as many as I can find on physical media. I’m looking for live performances too, as every live performance creates it’s own special magic.
