Check out the new trailer for ‘Troll 2’ (2025), the sequel to the surprisingly entertaining Norwegian Netflix film ‘Troll.’ It would appear that this time around they’re going all in on the kaiju style monster action.
Directed by Roar Uthaug, the director of the original Troll, returns as does a lot of the main cast including Ine Marie Wilmann, Kim Falck, and Mads Sjøgård Pettersen. It looks like a fun little movie, like the first one, with ideas and imagery clearly inspired from some of the more recent Godzilla movies.
I also love Norway and it’s history and mythology surrounding trolls, so I’m an easy target for films like this. I’m also a huge fan of André Øvredal’s ‘Troll Hunter.’ (2010). It’s a big comfort film.
While I patiently await the next fresh batch of official Godzilla films and shows, I’ll gladly accept this Troll size bite of entertainment.
