Have you seen the trailer for the Apple TV+ series Chief of War? It looks impressive. Starring Jason Momoa, Temuera Morrison, and Luciane Buchanan, Chief of War tells the story of of the unification of the Hawaiian Islands from the perspective of the indigenous inhabitants involving a Hawaiian war chief’s bloody campaign to unite the warring islands in order to save them from the threat of colonization. Sadly, I know little of the actual history of Hawaii. I imagine I was taught something in school over the years, but it was likely a blip on the radar or some super sanitized footnote in one of our history books. A Hawaiian war chief joins a bloody campaign to unite the warring islands in order to save them from the threat of colonization.
I’m really looking forward to this one. So many new series to watch, so little time.
