Film Title: Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere
Director: Scott Cooper | Cast: Marc Maron, Jeremy Allen White, Stephen Graham
Film Synopis: Bruce Springsteen’s journey crafting his 1982 album Nebraska, which emerged as he recorded Born in the USA with the E Street Band. Based on Warren Zanes’ book.
First of all, this trailer hits it out of the park. I’d rank “Musical Biographies” at near the bottom of my favorite film categories. I also have a wandering appreciation for Bruce Springsteen. He instantly brings up feelings from childhood. Memories of sitting on the carpet in my room and listening to Born In The USA on tape during elementary school. Then tiring of his sound as I grew up and angry and found Metallica. Then rediscovering him albums during college in the 90s. Finally reaching an age where I started to pay attention to song lyrics instead of just banging my head. (Not that Metallica doesn’t have good lyrics)
I really hope this film lives up to the stellar trailer.
Based on this limited view, Jeremy Allen White could easily bring home the oscar for this performance and the tone of this film is exactly what we need right now. Healing. Roots. Community.
Really looking forward to this one.
