Wow. Holy shit. Check out the explosive trailer for Eddington, the new Ari Aster film starring Joaquin Phoenix, Emma Stone, and Pedro Pascal.
It’s the story of a standoff between a small-town sheriff and a mayor that sets off tensions in Eddington, New Mexico that turns neighbors against neighbor and puts the entire town on the brink of destruction.
This movie is set in 2020, but still looks like a microcosm of America right now. Maybe it’s the story of how it’s always been. Regardless, it’s gonna be a tender spot for everyone considering the current state of the country.
As I sit here writing this, I just read Texas Governor Abbott is about to send the National Guard to San Antonio “just in case” of trouble. Of course, Abbott would make it worse. Didn’t anyone see Andor season 2? Same playbook the Empire used there. Bring in the fire, turn up the heat, and wait for things to boil over. “Wow, good thing we were there! See!”
Every fucking time. Pardon my French.
So, yeah, Eddington. I love what Ari Aster does. I love Pascal and Phoenix. Really looking forward to this one. Man, I think I better go watch something chill like Kiki’s Delivery Service and calm down. Enjoy your day and stay safe.
