The official trailer for Alien: Earth has arrived! Check it out.

The official storyline reads “When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat.”

After watching the trailer, I am going to keep my expectations low but hopes high. It looks very promising to me. The original Alien and Aliens are two of my all time favorites, but haven’t been much of a fan of the series since 3. I thought Alien: Romulus was alright though. Pretty entertaining until the end.

The new FX / Hulu series begins airing August 12th starring Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, and Timothy Olyphant.

    I have to admit, I was not sure what to expect. But I certainly did not expect this. It’s different from anything that came before, and at the same time, visibly rooted in the Alien lore.I’m not sure what to expect. I guess it could go either way, but I have a good feeling about it. It certainly feels fresh, which I can’t say for the last movie, which I enjoyed overall (some parts more than others), although it was a Force Awakens-style mashup of all that came before (but less original than Star Wars sequel).I also adore the first two in the series (I can’t decide which I like more, because it depends on my mood), but I don’t particularly dislike any of the sequels (each has its own low and high moments, kind of like the James Bond franchise). What I appreciate the most about the Alien franchise is that each film has a different director who brought their style and mood to it. Except for the final alien in the 4th movie, the VFX are great across the board.P.S.       Yeah, I agree with your assessment. Gonna keep my expectations low and hope for the best. As we’ve learned, nothing can recapture the perfection of the first two but they all bring a certain enjoyment in their own way. I like thinking of them more like Bond movies. I might have to go back and try Prometheus and Covenant again.
