I’m back again with another peek inside a Toho SFX Movie Authentic Visual Book. Boy, that’s a long title. This time we’re looking at Volume 21 Godzilla 1999 which is actually Godzilla 2000!

I have to admit I was not a fan of this Godzilla design when I was young. Now that I’ve released my foolish childhood opinions, I find that I can appreciate all of the different Godzilla designs as the time capsule and individual artistic expressions that they are.

Back in November of 2023, I was lucky enough to catch a one night only screening of Godzilla 2000 on the big screen! I had not seen it in years and I gotta say I loved every minute of it.

As I have mentioned before, these Toho SFX series books are light on the text and heavy on the full page photos. While some of the photos in this edition seem a bit repetitive (Godzilla look left, Okay now right! Great! Beautiful!) there are also a few behind the scene photos that I’ve never seen before and some killer shots of the big end battle.

These books always make me feel like a kid again, and at only $15 a volume, that’s a money well spent.
Overall, another great little flip book, if you’re a die-hard fan of Godzilla.
