Well, the new A Minecraft Movie trailer is here. Directed by Jared Hess, best know for Napoleon Dynamite, the film stars Jason Momoa and Jack Black in the first-ever big screen, live-action adaptation of the best-selling, much loved video game Minecraft.
This film has been in pre-production for years and the first teaser trailer didn’t leave me too excited. This new trailer gives me a bit of hope. I can see some of that Nacho Libre energy in it. (Another film Hess directed with Jack Black)

We’re a Minecraft household over here. My two youngest kids were die-hard Minecrafters back when it first launched. They are in their twenties now. My youngest who is 10, is very much a dedicated Minecraft enthusiast. He spends hours modding and creating and playing. I have spent countless hours of my life watching all three of them play, moments I wouldn’t have missed for the world.

But it’s not all the kids. I love the game too. The music is some of my favorite of any video game. Super chill to listen to while working. It’s also great to jump into a new MC world and just build and unwind at the end of the day, either on my own or with one of the kids.
Anyway, what do you think? Setting my bar for success very low on this movie and hopefully we’ll all enjoy it.
