Finally! Check out the first trailer for Taika Waititi‘s Apple TV+ adaptation of Terry Gilliam’s 1981 film, Time Bandits. If you’re reading this and haven’t seen the original, it’s a Gilliam classic film about a young boy who discovers a time-traveling portal in his bedroom.
I imagine that a lot of people are going to love it or hate it with this new version of Time Bandits, as it’s a beloved childhood film for a lot of us, and it has that Taika Waititi humor you either enjoy or have grown tired of. I, for one, still enjoy pretty much everything he’s done.
He’s not always totally successful, but his heart is right there on his sleeve with every project, and to me, it tends to leave me feeling good.
This trailer left me feeling good. To me, you can’t get enough of that feeling in this world.
I am very much looking forward to this. It seems to have captured the spirit of the original and even the look in some parts, with some surprises in store for sure.
