Check out this live performance of music from Hideaki Anno‘s Shin Godzilla and Evangelion at Bunkamura Orchard Hall back in 2017. Two of my favorite soundtracks composed and arranged by Shiro Sagisu, this live blending is performed by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra.
Updated 8/18/25. I had the full concert embedded here but it was removed from YouTube. Below is the only other clip I could find. If you know where I could find the full concert please leave me a comment.
Did you know that Shiro learned how to play the violin and piano around 4 years old at a Catholic monastery? Also, his father was a manga artist and owned a special effects studio. It’s not surprising then to understand the path his life and career have taken him into the worlds of anime and fantasy film. Almost seems like destiny!

If you’re a fan of either the series Shin Godzilla or Neon Genesis Evangelion, you’ll likely know Shiro Sagisu’s music well. It’s a real treat to see them performed live.
