Check out the trailer for the new Netflix series based on the popular Swedish fantasy-tale ‘Ronja the Robber’s Daughter.’
The story follows Ronja, whose father is the chief of a tribe of bandits that live in a huge castle in the forest. As the story unfolds, Ronja encounters many mystical creatures as she explores and experiences life in the forest.
When Ronja meets a young boy from a rival gang of bandits, the beginning of a dark family feud and a forbidden friendship emerges.
Years ago, I remember trying to watch this same story produced by Hayao Miyazaki’s son Goro Miyazaki in a cell-shading 3D animation style.
I really tried to like it and got about 8 or 9 episodes in before I moved on. The pacing was strange and the animation was not quite ready for primetime yet.
This trailer looks pretty good though. The basic story seems appealing and worth a look.
